Benjamin Gordon Cooper's debut album is stirred by childhood memories - the good, the bad and the somewhere in between.

A novice - having taken up the piano in March 2022 - Cooper's early improvisations rely heavily on instinct and feeling, giving these tracks an authentic innocence.

It Was Never Meant To End That Way recalls the curving notes of distant ice cream van melodies - turning major to minor and hope and expectation into something else entirely.
