A pebble is picked up on a stretch of coast, sparking a sacred bond and with it igniting in one boy an unlikely empathy for families risking their lives to reach the very same shoreline his family have lived on for centuries.

A soundtrack to a film that doesn't exist, Virgin Stone is an experimental work journeying through darkened room, lo-fi neo-classical, electro ambience, church organ drone and mysterious jazz passages - and is informed as much by curious children's television soundtracks of the 1980s as it is by modern influences including Sarah Davachi, Kali Malone and Mabe Fratti.

Having taken up piano, clarinet and violin in 2022 - teaching himself through trial and error - new artist Benjamin Gordon Cooper composes, performs and produces untethered by classical and technical training, instead relying on experimentation, improvisation and feel.
